1st Asia Pacific Coral Reef Symposium June 18 ~ 24 2006

A gathering of more than 200 scientists, conservationists, MPA managers, fisheries researchers and government officials from the Asia Pacific Region to discuss about the best way to help protect and conserve our coral reefs.

HKFID and Hong Kong Underwater Association was join this event.

WWF Big Fish Count 2005

Big Fish Count is an outreach event where the diving community and the public come together to work towards the conservation and protection of our marine environment. A competition with teams of 4 to 8 divers ( 2 to 4 buddy pairs) will identify and record as many species of fish as possible in the Hong Kong waters within an 8-hour period.

HKFID has been joining this event as a supporting organization. If you are interested to this event, please contact us at: activity@hkfid.org

HKFID team - Winnie Chan (Sum), Winnie Kong, Pan Lam, Man King Fai, Huen Chee Kin.

They spotted out 47 species of fish in 2 dives! Well done, mates!
